In partnership with the Golden State Warriors and Jennifer Azzi, Good Tidings renovated an indoor basketball court for the Marin City Community Center. Together, we completely refinished the hardwood floor, painted the gym, repainted the lobby, and the teen room along with installing a new carpet.
Historically, Marin City has been one of the poorest cities in Marin County. The average income in Marin City is $42,737, while Marin County is significantly higher at $126,373. To support the marginalized youth in Marin City, Good Tidings built this basketball court for the Marin City Community Center. This court dismantles local youth segregation by allowing kids to play with their peers of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. It is a place where the community can come together and build a safer environment for children to thrive.
The court was completed on June 29, and youth camps began on July 6, 2020. We applaud the Community Center for practicing safe protocols during COVID-19.
